Have been Chairman of OBK for the last 2 years after 3 years as Treasurer. A Board member of SLS HB for 2 years through the restructure period of SLS in NZ. Joined OBK 6 years ago via my Kids who became involved through their swim coach. Had no previous experience in Surf other than being a great visitor to NZ beaches all my life. Have lived in Hawkes Bay for the last 15 years and with the family loved spending time at Ocean Beach prior to becoming involved in the Club. Work for Westpac as a Business Manager

Joined the Kiwi SLSC in 1967, and is a foundation member (1970)and life member of Ocean Beach Kiwi. Gold and Silver medallist in surf canoe. Accountant by profession and member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of New Zealand.

Adam was first a member of OBK back in 1990 and has recently returned from a stint away after an extended O.E. He then spent some time concentrating on his career. Adam has been invovled with Surf Life Saving for 10+ years and is currently our Director of Lifeguarding. Along with this he is also giving his time to coach our young lifeguards in Surf Sport.

Has been involved with the club for 3 years now. Became involved when his children joined the previous JS program. He is a good example of someone who has come late to the sport without any surf lifesaving experience but who can still contribute to the club and learn new skills on the way through. Has thoroughly enjoyed his time with OBK to date and it is especially pleasing to see his children and the children in the JS program develop the skills and confidence that surf lifesaving has to offer. |
