NEWSLETTER - 17th DECEMBER 2008

WAIPATIKI BATTLE OF THE BAYS

First of all well done to everyone who participated!  Our team was new and young but we made up a fairly noticable team on the beach regardless of the absent members.  It was extremely cold and the waves were big, everyone had a go and did thier best in the conditions. 

Congratulations to Clair Benson, David Benson, Jack Dury, Aimee Fisher, Daniel Ellingham, Coralie Burtin, Alex Lowery and Effie Milne for gaining placings in thier individual and team events during the day.  Please click to the Results page for more details. 

With everyone competing in as many events as possible our team successfully came third!  This would not have been possible without the awesome team spirit and team managers helping us out throughout the day.  

JUNIOR SURF

There is a Nipper Carnival on this Sunday 21st December at Waimararma.  The team will meet at the Baywide tent at 9.30am.  Carnival begins at 10am. 

Junior surf will break from the sundays sessions after the carnival this weekend, and will commence again on Sunday 11th of Janruary. 

CHRISTMAS WISHES

For those who have been bitten by the surf lifesaving bug our advice is to get out to ocean beach as much as possible over the summer - In the sea catching the waves on board and skis developing your skills or out in your speedos body surfing the waves.  (Not face planting on the sand bar like Pat did recently).

Reminder - the van will be going out to Ocean Beach in the weekends and everyone is welcome to come and stay over.  Please call Pat or a patrol captain for details.
